Sahara was born in to a family of performing artists in Montreal, Quebec in 1990.
Her parents produced and directed early music and 20th century operas from 1991 - 97, and later founded, directed and composed for Ballet Victoria in British Columbia.
In Victoria, Sahara was exposed to music festivals and many performing opportunities.
Training from the age of 9 with her father and grandmother, who both taught at McGill, Sahara won the David Foster, Search For a Star in 2002.
During her years in Victoria Sahara garnered many awards, and performed in numerous Canadian premieres such as:
- “Medea Metamorphoses” singing the role of Aphrodite ~ Colin Doroschuk
- “Peter Pan” & “Alice” singing the voices of Wendy and Alice ~ Ballet Victoria
- Karl Jenkins’ “Requiem” with the Victoria Philharmonic Choir, Soprano soloist
- Richard Strauss' “Daphne” Pacific Opera Victoria’s, Chorus
Her other accomplishments include:
- winning numerous awards at local music and dance festivals
- being the youngest member accepted into the Victoria Conservatory of Music’s Opera Studio at the age of fifteen
- Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater” with Arbutus Quartet, Soprano soloist
- winning Victoria’s Top Visionaries under 40 award for Arts & Entertainment in 2007
- being a featured young artist to perform with the Victoria Symphony at their annual “Summer Splash” in front of 45,000 people in August 2007
- being accepted into the Victoria Conservatory of Music’s Summer Vocal Academy for young opera singers 2008
- Most recently started her second year the Royal Conservatory of Music's Glenn Gould School completing her Bachelor's in Voice Performance.
- Performing numerous recitals in Canada and the U.S
